Sled Dog Rides To Be Featured At The Junction Flea Market Grand Opening

The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony on Feb 7.2004 as part of the grand opening of the Junction Flea Market located on RT 11 on what was formally know as Casey Place in Brownville.

The Casey Place property is being developed two brothers and their wives Don & Colleen Bevins and John & Kristen Bevins who are originally from Brownville and have recently returned to the region from Tennessee and Massachusetts. The Bevins business plan calls for the creation of a flea market/auction house and campground. The Bevins hope to add a restaurant and store some time in the near future.

The grant opening will begin at 10 AM with a Ribbon cutting ceremony by the Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce. After the ribbon cutting the Junction Flea market will offer number of actives including sled dog rides with the process to benefiting the Piscataquis Animal Control Fund and local Boy Scouts will be selling refreshments to raise money for Scout Camp.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be the Third for the Chamber in the last three weeks said Chamber Director Dennis Lyford. The Chamber is pleased to see more businesses locating in Southern Piscataquis County.

The Chamber also believes that the plan to develop the former Casey Place property will great benefit the Chamber tourism promotion efforts said Lyford
