GREENVILLE - The first annual "Moosehead Mush" comes to Greenville on Saturday, February 28. Staging will take place at the turn table off of Depot Street in Greenville Junction. Mushers will be at the site by 7:00 a.m.. Activities start at 8:00 a.m. and the races will take place over the course of the day. The Moosehead Mush has two designed courses; a short run and a long run, with a combined range of 100 miles. Teams will be running on a well-groomed challenging course that rises 1,200 ft. in elevation shortly after the start of the race. This race is not for the faint of heart! This is a great family event, free and open to the public, and will give spectators a chance to learn about the sport of dog sledding, and see these fabulous teams in action. Cheer them on at the start, and welcome them in at the finish! Spectators may park at the town wharf. The first annual Moosehead Mush is supported by the Town of Greenville, Moosehead Lake Region Chamber of Commerce, Down East Sled Dog Club, the Moosehead Riders Snowmobile Club, and North Country Healthy Communities.
