Chamber to Hold Awards Dinner

PENQUIS - The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce will celebrate an end to another successful year with an awards dinner on Tuesday 7 PM May 25th at the Nor easter Restaurant in Dover-Foxcroft.

The Chamber will introduces it officers and directors for 2004/2005,who will be elected at the Chamber's annual meeting scheduled to be held at 7AM Wednesday May 19th at the Penquis Higher Education Center in Dover-Foxcroft.

The Chamber will make a special presentation to thank its many volunteers, who play a key role in the group's success, said Chamber Director Dennis Lyford. Our Volunteers played a key role in our success said Lyford.

The Chamber will be present an award for the business of the year in following three categories, a business with over 15 employees: a business with under 15 employees and a non-profit business of the year.

Businesses will be nominated by the Chamber's membership and the winners will be selected by the Chamber's Board of Directors based on the following criteria:

A very positive effect on the area and it people.
Significantly contributions in an economy and social sense to the people of the area.
Proven to be a stable business.
Exemplified those principles of honor and ethics endorsed by the Chamber.
A current member of the Chamber.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Darcy Rollins of the of the Maine Down Town Center a program of the Maine Development Foundation.
