Mayo plans open house, tours Aug. 2
Friday, July 11, 2003
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Mayo Regional Hospital’s expansion project is nearly complete, and Mayo is planning an open house with guided tours for the public from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, as part of the Dover-Foxcroft Homecoming celebration. Tours will begin in the main lobby at the front entrance, where refreshments will also be available.

Mayo began the construction and renovation project 26 months ago. On Aug. 2 the public can view the Ambulatory Services Unit, the last of three new wings constructed at the hospital.

The Ambulatory Services Unit includes a third operating room, improves surgery’s special procedures capabilities, and enhances recovery space for patient surgery. The ASU also houses the Imaging Center for Women, with its important mammography service.

The $8 million expansion project has created a new Mayo Regional Hospital poised to meet the healthcare needs of the Penquis region for many years to come. But don’t take our word for it -- come in and see for yourself from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, during Dover-Foxcroft’s Homecoming.
