DOVER-FOXCROFT - Mayo Regional Hospital will be offering a monthly endocrinology clinic -- the hospital's 13th outpatient specialty clinic -- starting Aug. 19. The clinic will be scheduled the third Monday of each month with endocrinologist Cheryl Dabon, M.D., who is on the medical staff at Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. Appointments will be scheduled through Dr. Dabon office, at 634-4366. The clinic will be located at Mayo Pediatrics, in suite 500 of Mayo's medical office building on West Main Street. Endocrinology is the branch of internal medicine that concentrates on disorders of the internal (endocrine) glands such as the thyroid and adrenal glands. Endocrinology also deals with disorders such as diabetes, metabolic and nutritional disorders, pituitary diseases, and menstrual and sexual problems. The endocrinology clinic will work closely with Mayo's internal medicine physicians and with the hospital's Diabetes and Nutrition Center. |
