The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce announced today that eight bands have signed contracts to perform at the Piscataquis Heritage Festival Bluegrass Concert scheduled for September 27th & 28th at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds in Dover-Foxcroft. We have booked some of the best bands in Maine said concert chairperson Judy McKinney. The bands include Union River, Evergreen, Midnight Flyer, The Yankee Soul Revue, Doughty Hill Band, Abbot Hill Ramblers, Cambridge Community Orchestra, and the Katahdin Valley Boys. Piscataquis Heritage Festival Bluegrass Concert is one of largest musical concerts in Piscataquis County explained Chamber executive director Dennis Lyford. The goal of the festival will be attract both locals and visitors to spend time in Piscataquis County to sample good food and music and to good time said Lyford. The Piscataquis Heritage Festival will also feature the Maine State Barbecue Championship Contest, Maine Artisan Show, Gourmet Food Show, Craft Demonstrations, Paintball Demonstration and much more. The Piscataquis Heritage festival is a major undertaking by the Chamber said Lyford.
