Piscataquis High principal resigns
Thursday, August 14, 2003
GUILFORD - Bruce Lindberg's resignation as Piscataquis Community High School principal was accepted Tuesday by SAD 4 directors. This week's board meeting was the first held since Lindberg submitted his resignation in June. In anticipation of his departure, school officials advertised the position and received about a dozen applications, according to SAD 4 Superintendent Paul Stearns. Interviews will be conducted Aug. 20 and 21 with select candidates.

PCHS's Assistant Principal Kevin Jordan will fill the position in the interim.

Another administrative change made Tuesday was the appointment of William Thompson as the district's adult education director.

Directors learned that through the refinancing of the district's loan with the Maine Bond Bank, a savings of about $95,000 resulted.

Stearns also reported that local superintendents have conducted discussions on superintendents' agreements where an administrator can approve the transfer of a pupil to another school. Surrounding superintendents have agreed that such transfers would be considered for compelling reasons only.
