PENQUIS AREA - Joyce Hedlund, President of the Eastern Maine Technical College will speak this September on the anticipated transition of Maine's Technical Colleges from a primary provider of technical education to a full-fledged State Community College System. Her remarks will be made during the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council's (PCEDC) September 9th Quarterly Board of Director's meeting. The meeting will be held at the new Penquis Higher Education Center, 50 Mayo Street, Dover-Foxcroft and will start at 4pm. A barbeque dinner will follow President Hedlund's remarks as well as a short business meeting, announcements and news. Suggested contribution is $8.00. Like all PCEDC functions, the public is cordially invited to attend. However, reservations are strongly encouraged.
