Mayo auxiliary to purchase defibrillator
Tuesday, September 10, 2002
DOVER-FOXCROFT - The Mayo Regional Hospital Auxiliary has taken on a new fundraising project to purchase a $12,000 defibrillator for use in Mayo's Medical/Surgical nursing unit. A defibrillator is an electrical device that helps restore a patient's heartbeat during a cardiac emergency.

The Auxiliary has already paid $5,000 on the defibrillator purchase price, with $2,000 coming through a donation by the Mt. Kineo #64 Masonic Lodge in Dover-Foxcroft. The Auxiliary contribution includes $2,634 raised at the community variety show held Aug. 30 at Foxcroft Academy, which was attended by 130 people. The variety show generated nearly $1,800 in sponsorship fees donated by more than 20 area businesses.

The Auxiliary is planning its annual fall meeting for 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at the Guilford United Methodist Church.
