AUGUSTA, Maine - Maine's migratory waterfowl hunt is underway, and this year's Migratory Game Bird Hunting Schedule is now available at license agents, Inland Fisheries and Wildlife offices and on the web at www.mefishwildlife.com. Hunters are reminded that 2002 authorities that were covered by state stamps are now covered by a check-off on the new license. Waterfowlers no longer need to purchase a state waterfowl stamp and affix it to their license, instead they must purchase the authority on their check-off license. Hunters still must purchase a federal waterfowl stamp, which then must be signed and either affixed to their license or carried on their person. Waterfowl stamps are still available to collectors at the Augusta office of IFW. |
