The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce will host the first formal meeting of the Penquis Valley Entrepreneurs Association at 7 PM on September 27, 2001 at the Piscataquis Regional YMCA in Dover-Foxcroft. Chamber Executive Director Dennis Lyford explained that the goal of the association will be to bring together entrepreneurs and other interested parties to build the capacity to promote the region and its local produce and services. The Chamber will be working with local entrepreneurs to help them network, develop marketing plans and to promote their products beyond Piscataquis County. The new group as been working with the chamber at the Piscataquis Valley Fair and is planning a regional wide Christmas program in December.
