OVERVIEW As we all know by now, the Internet offers tremendous opportunities for sharing knowledge and information, and many collecting institutions are beginning to log on. But putting images on the Internet raises legal, technical, and archival questions that are both exciting and challenging. This conference will address a few of the more important issues facing anyone interested in digitizing and sharing collections--documents, artifacts, photographs, and more--on the Web. It grows out of Maine Historical Society's continuing experience with Maine Memory Network, one of the first state-wide, online museums in the country. The conference will be held at the Maine Historical Society from 9am to 5 pm on Thursday November 7th, 2002. Online Registration: http://www.mainehistory.org/conference WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
