After School Program Seeks Budding Entrepreneurs

DOVER-FOXCROFT--Does your child dream of being the next Bill Gates? Do you wish your child knew more about making money than spending it? Penquis Community Action Program is seeking interested students for Aspirations for Young Entrepreneurs, a new after school program open to all SAD 68 youths 12-15 years of age at no cost. An informational night for parents and students will be held on Thursday, December 13, at 6:00 pm at Penquis CAP, 50 North Street, Dover-Foxcroft.

Students will learn how to transform their ideas and interests into a business of their own. Age-appropriate instruction will be provided on a range of business topics, including patents/trademarks, e-commerce, marketing, negotiating, accounting, financial management and obtaining financing. Hands-on activities will provide students with a practical application of what they have learned. Speakers, field trips, conflict resolution workshops, community service projects and physical activities that build teamwork will also be part of the program, though specific topics and activities will depend largely upon the interests of the group.

For more information about the Aspirations for Young Entrepreneurs program, call Debbie Ball at 564-7116.
