Chambers welcome new members

The Spccc would like to welcome the Dexter Town Manger Bob Simpson an t the town of Dexter to the Chamber. The chamber will be working close with the Dexter to promote the Dexter Municipal Golf Club.

The Chamber would also like to welcome a new member and a new business to the area. Bruce Wood has recently purchased the former Goulette's IGA and has renamed it the Dover-Foxcroft IGA.

Chamber to sponsor Circus

Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce will house Roberts Bros. Curcus on July 30th in Dover-Foxcroft. The Roberts Bros. Circus is family owned and operated and dedicated to keeping the old fashioned tradition alive. The Roberts Bros. Circus will have two shows' they are scheduled for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Adult - Advanced $6.00 at the door $8.00

Advanced tickets can be purchased at Dexter Skowhegan Savings Bank, the Dexter Federal Credit Union's in Dexter, Dover-Foxcroft United Bank, and the Guilford Key Bank.

The piscataquis County Economic Development Council will be holding it's quarterly board meeting on August 2, 1999 at Greenville from 3 - 7:30 p.m.

5-5:30 p.m. - Proposed Rural Workforce and Eutrepreneurship Development project

Evergreen Lodge to offer Moosehead Safari and Scenic Cruises

Close your eyes and imagine yourself floating along on our spacious new pontoon boat. Listen carefully for the call of the loon and the screech of the osprey. Look in the cove ahead. There stands a cow moose with her calf and the bull moose with his huge antlers looms close by. Are you excited yet? We are! So what are you waiting for! Call now to make you reservations to explore Moosehead Lake, Maine's "crown jewel," and Mt. Kineo, the "gem" aboard the Discovery.

While aboard you may view up close various wildlife which often comprise moose, deer, bear, eagles, osprey and loons. The tour will also include a trip to Mt. Youth Golf Tour

The Piscatquis Regional YMCA and the Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce announced plans to host the 1st annual Piscataquis Youth Golf Tour.

The youth golf tour offers boys and girls ages 12-15 and opportunity to compete in six golf tournaments to be held at three different golf courses over a three-week period. Players will be awarded points according to how they finish in each tournament, after the completion of tours trophies will be awarded players with the highest point total.

Tournament schedule is as follows:
July 20 - Foxcroft Golf Club in Dover-Foxcroft
July 22 - Dexter Municipal Golf Club
July 29 - Whitetail Golf Course in Charleston
August 2 - Foxcroft Golf Club
August 5 - Dexter Municipal Golf Course
August 9 - Whitetail in Charleston
