Chamber to have new web address
The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the chamber has made several changes to our web site. The Chamber's new address is www.spccc.org. Chamber executive director Dennis Lyford explained that the new address would be much simpler than the old address and easier to remember.

KyND Internet Services of Dover-Foxcroft will host the web site. Judy Craig of Judy Craig Consulting in Dexter who designed our website will continue to maintain on a regular basis.

Welcome Basket Program
The SPCCC would once again like to ask its members for items to put into the Chambers Welcome Basket Program. the Welcome baskets are a way of welcoming new arrivals to the Piscataquis County Region. The baskets are filled with business cards, coupons, brochures, key chains, calendars, pens and other promotional items. The baskets are then given to local real estate agents who present them to new homeowners, who are moving into the area. If you would like to take part in this program contact the chamber at 564-7533 by October 2nd.

Members in the News
In the Sunday edition of the Maine Sunday Telegram (9/24/00) the Guilford Bed & Breakfast was featured in the paper's fall foliage guide. The Chamber would like to congratulate Harry & Lynn Anderson of the Guilford B & B.

At the recent Incubators Without Walls Regional Trade Show held at the Bangor Civic Center on September 14th two members of the SPCCC were honored. Sylvia Black of the Down Home B & B in Milo was named the Incubator Without Walls Member of the Year. Judy Craig of Judy Craig Consulting in Dexter was chosen as the Incubator's Outstanding Council Member.

Incubators Without Walls is a program that provides microbusinesses training, networking and business planning. The coordinator for the program is Roberta Laverty of Milo who is also a member of SPCCC.

Ambassador Program
The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce will begin a new program starting in October. The program will be called the Ambassador Program. Chamber director Dennis Lyford explained that programs will be in two parts.

Members of the SPCCC Board of Directors will begin to make telephone calls to its members and perform a simple phone survey. In the coming weeks Dennis Lyford and members of the Board will visit members to do a more in depth survey. The goal of the program explained Lyford will be to help the Chamber better communicate with its members.

Welcome Basket Program
The SPCCC would like to invite its members to donate items for the SPCCC welcome basket program. The Chamber is looking for business cards, calendars, key chains, etc.

Welcome baskets will be distributed to people, who move into the region, by the local real estate agencies.

Harvest Open House Tour
The Chamber would like to invite area merchants to take part in the Annual Harvest Open House Tour which will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2000. For more information on the tour contact the Chamber at 564-7533.
