Creative ideas for a thriving community
Tuesday, March 23, 2004
PENQUIS - The Milo Town Hall Art Center in conjunction with CHEt is proud to host a regional networking event for organizations, groups and individuals that are interested in their communities. This event will be Wednesday, March 24th at 6:00 P.M. at the Milo Town Hall Art Center, desserts and drinks will be provided. We look forward to seeing everyone and continuing with our wonderful discussions of the area.

Our featured speaker will be Gerry (pronounced Gary) Whiting of the Appalachian Mountain Club. He will be speaking about the recent purchase of the 37,000 acres of land in the Katahdin Ironworks/Gulf Hagas area. Recently, more then a dozen folks from the area visited the AMC facility in the White Mountains. We were impressed with the high quality of educational, conservation and environmental components of their organization.

Following Mr. Whiting there will be a panel discussion with representatives from Milo, Brownville, Greenville and Dover-Foxcroft. The discussion will be focused on the education component, tourism and conservation. Our aim is to enlarge our mutual your vision of what could be and to come up with ideas to bring them about. Roger Merchant will also be presenting a short series of slides showing what another area has been doing with its natural resources.

Come join us for dessert and a lively exchange of ideas. RSVP to Kristie McLeod at 564-8963 or e-mail [email protected] yahoo.com.
