Lyford explained everyone is aware of the positive impact that snowmobiling has had on the Maine economy. The chamber believes that the Southern Piscataquis County region has not taken advantage of this economic opportunity while other area have promoted their regions to the $150 million dollar snowmobile industry.

The Chamber plans to produce 5000 full two-sided color snowmobile map of the region by January 8,2002. A new feature of the 2002 trail map will be the identifying the locations of the map's sponsors businesses on the trailside of the map.
