Other officers installed for the 2001-2002 year were Joe Guyotte, president elect; Jay Brennan, vice president; David Lockwood, secretary; and Paul Raymond, treasurer. Dennis Lyford is the club's immediate past president. Elected to the club's Board of Directors were Ron Miles, Don Siviski, Bob Darling, Hoyt Fairbrother, Brenda Kelly, Tom Gerrish, Erik Stumpfel and Bonnie Guyotte. Lizotte is director of marketing and development at Mayo Regional Hospital. He also serves as chairman of the Dover-Foxcroft Board of Selectmen, is on the executive committees of the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council, the Pine Crest Park development board and the Thompson Free Library Association, and is a trustee of the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church. Seven club members received George F. Hixon Fellowship medals from the Kiwanis International Foundation in recognition of support for the Foundation's initiative to eliminate iodine deficiency disorders around the world. New Hixon Fellows are Mary Lynn Vernon, Dr. David McDermott, Judy Raymond, Paul Raymond, Earl Brazier, Dana Fadley and Bob Darling. John Cushing received a special plaque honoring him as treasurer emeritus, in recognition of 20 years' continuous service as club treasurer. Howard Kesseli was recognized as the incoming Lt. Governor for Division 2. Phil Annis and John Cushing received Legion of Honor awards for 55 and 35 years, respectively, of club membership. Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanians last year raised over $38,000 to support community projects and also donated over 1,200 hours of volunteer service. The Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft was formed 64 years ago. The community service organization has 60 members and holds breakfast meetings 6:45 a.m. every Tuesday at the Bear's Den Restaurant. |
