The Town of Dover-Foxcroft and the Southern Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce announced plans to hold the 5th annual White Holiday Lights Festival beginning on Saturday December 1st Once again Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department will outline in white lights the Dover-Foxcroft Fire Station, The Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society Building, Central Hall and also will light the town’s Christmas Tree in Union Square. Dennis Lyford Executive Director for the Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce explained that outlining the three historical buildings in white light was first done in 1997 and has since become a holiday tradition in Dover-Foxcroft. This year White Holiday Lights will be part of the Penquis Valley Entrepreneurs Association 1st Old Fashion Penquis Valley Christmas. The Old Fashion Penquis Valley Christmas will be a regional event that will end in Dover-Foxcroft on December 1st with a lighted Christmas parade beginning at 5:30 PM. After the parade the public will be invited to take part in the annual lighting of the Town’s Christmas Tree at Union Square, with Christmas caroling and light refreshments following. The Chamber is asking all businesses and homes in Dover-Foxcroft have their White Holiday lights up prior to December 1st.
