DEXTER - We recently held a Haunted and Happy Hay Ride as a fund raiser for NCRC, Oct. 20th 2001. We received an overwhelming response, and appreciate those who turned out to join us. It was great entertainment for us, and those that participated in the rides.

We also, recently mailed potential members, information on our club and membership forms for 2002. If you did not receive a mailing and would like one, please contact any officer and we will be glad to include you on our mailing list.

We held our annual membership and officer election meeting, on Nov. 14th 2001. We welcomed new faces and happily, welcomed many returning members from 2001. We held our raffle drawing on a beautiful, queen size, horse print quilt, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crawford of Dexter. Our lucky raffle winner was Alma Engstrom of Dover-Foxcroft. Thank you to all those who purchased tickets.

After a 2001 closing discussion on our first year as an established club, we thanked and remembered those who helped us build the dream all we've all worked so hard for. Please visit our riding facility at Bud Elms Feild, Dexter, Maine.

We began the 2002 season with an election of officers. Our officers for the 2002 season will be as follows:
President, Amie Smith 924-7185
V.President Laurie Chabot 924-6210
Treasurer, Sarah Hanscome 924-5668
Secretary Lynn McKusick 924-5074

We are hoping to hold 2-4 shows at our facility in Dexter in the summer of 2002. Show dates and times will be published as soon as they are available. We also hope to include clinics, trail rides and special events this season. We will be working this winter to plan all event schedules and future plans for NCRC. We will be reviewing By-Laws and show/event rules as well.

A new topic at our November meeting, was the oppurtunity to offer club members possible "For Sale/Lease/Wanted" information on horses and equipment in our area. Any club officer will be able to provide you with contact information on these items.

We currently have a newsletter to be distributed to our local Abbot Memorial Library and The Dexter Town Office. If you would like to learn more about NCRC please feel free to pick our newsletter at your convenience. As always if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any officer at the numbers listed above. We are always interested in new ideas!

Please keep in mind we do have an donation account at the Dexter Redemption Center for all those interested in donating their bottle returns to NCRC. Thank you for your support!
Happy Holidays from all of us at North Country Riding Club.
