Warden Service Adds New Pilot
Friday, November 21, 2003
AUGUSTA, Maine -- Dan Dufault of Turner was recently sworn in as a Game Warden Pilot. Dufault will be based in the southern division of the Maine Warden Service.

Dufault will be based out of the Turner Aviation field which neighbors Route 4 in Turner. He will cover an area that stretchs from Rangeley in the west, all the way Downeast to Machias. As a Warden Pilot, Dufault will be instrumental not only in enforcement activities, but also in search and rescue efforts, fish and wildlife surveys, stocking fish, boating enforcement, and snowmobile and ATV details.

Dufault first got his pilot's license when he was 16, and he has been flying ever since. He has worked for Currier's Air Service in Greenville, and also spent over four years as a bush pilot flying for two different sporting lodges in Alaska before returning to Maine. He is a licensed aviation mechanic.

"Dan is a welcome addition to the Warden Service, particularly since he joins us during one of the busiest times of year," said Maine Warden Service Chief Pilot Charlie Later.
