Topic at Issues & Eggs meeting
On December 5th , an Issues & Eggs breakfast meeting for the business community will provide a forum where Penquis employers can explore the topic "How to Recruit and Retain Good Employees."

The special two-hour event will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5 at the Covered Bridge Restaurant, Route 15 in Guilford. The meeting is open to the public.

A panel of local human resources professionals will focus on HR needs in the Penquis region. Representatives of Mayo Regional Hospital, Guilford of Maine, A.E. Robinson Oil Company and other local companies will participate in a panel discussion on hiring and firing, company orientations, and human resources documentation requirements. Dennis Lyford, Director of the Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce, and Merlene Sanborn, Director of the Penquis Training and Education Center, will co-chair the panel.

Small employers, who do not have a trained human resources director on staff, will have an opportunity to discuss basic human resources issues with HR professionals from the region';s larger organizations. Sponsors expect this meeting may spark interest in continued on-going discussions about the region';s unique human resources needs.

The breakfast meeting is sponsored by the SPCCC, in conjunction with the Penquis Training and Education Center and the RWED Committee of the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council. Issues and Eggs breakfast meetings are a regular chamber of commerce activity and provide the business community with opportunities to learn about issues that directly affect the region';s business climate.

The charge for breakfast is $5.00. For information, call Dennis Lyford at 564-7530, or Merlene Sanborn at 564-2943.
