Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis distribute Christmas Gifts
DOVER-FOXCROFT - The Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft distributed gifts to 62 children in a total of 33 families throughout the Dover-Foxcroft area on Saturday, Dec. 15, as part of the service club's annual Community Christmas Project.

As it does each year, Kiwanis coordinated the Christmas gift-giving efforts of many community members, including businesses, groups and churches, to ensure that appropriate gifts were provided to all needy families.

Kiwanis co-chairs Mary Lynn Vernon and Judy Raymond said community members supplied gifts for 31 children. The Kiwanis club raised funds for other gifts, organized distribution lists, purchased and delivered gifts.

The Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft and its 60 members annually supports a wide variety of community programs, with the primary focus being on projects benefitting young people. Kiwanis this year will contribute over $40,000 from fundraising projects that include the Piscataquis River canoe race on April 27 and the annual summer auction.
